montecarl: White's Bar and Detroit

We have a handful of shows over the next few weeks spanning all sorts of days and times, which should make it easy for any of you to come to at least one of 'em.

This upcoming Thursday night, July 26, we're back "home" at White's Bar. We'll be playing with our friends Some Assembly Required, who are coming up from Detroit to rock with us. We have a few new songs to play for ya, which we hope you'll enjoy. And Some Assembly Required are all sorts of fun, so don't miss them, either. The show, as usual, starts at 10pm, has a $2 cover, and is ages 18+

Then, in a very special "non advertised" attraction, we will be performing again at White's on Sunday afternoon, August 5. This will be a free show going from 2-7pm and we will be playing with friends Double Negative and Common Groove. It's free, it's in the middle of a Sunday afternoon, all ages are welcome, and it's at White's Bar. What's not to love?

On Friday, August 10, we will be heading down to Hamtramck as we play at Paycheck's Lounge for the first time. We will be joined by former bass chick for The BC, Elle Sawa/Belle Nesmith as she performs as Elle and The Fonts. Also joining us will be Miss Amy Lynn and, coming all the way from New York City, Vision Through Sound. This show starts at 9pm, has a $5 cover, and is ages 21+ (though they do let in ladies ages 18+).

The very next night, Saturday August 11, we are back - yet again - at White's Bar, and we're bringing Vision Through Sound with us and will also be joined by Saginaw's own The Flashmob. The Banana Convention will be kicking off the night at 10pm, so for those of you with complaints about how we always go on late and you can't make it, this is your night. We go on at 10 with Vision Through Sound and then The Flashmob finishing off the night after us.

And with one more White's Bar show, our August is concluded. We will be appearing at the 4th Annual White's Bar Back To School Fest on Saturday, August 18. The headlining act is the one and only ? and the Mysterians. There are tons of other bands playing at this all day event, including The Mongrels, Silverspork, Neighborhood Muscle, and more. The show begins at 2pm and goes through to 2am. We are slated for the midnight slot, but come out early anyway and party all afternoon and night. There will be food and music and drinks and friends and fun. It'll be great!

Whew! That's a lot of information. If you need it all condensed down in to one easy to look at page, our current schedule is online at our MySpace page (www.myspace.com/thebananaconvention) with all this information and more. See y'all soon!
